Well, after the false start for my left knee (partial) replacement in April (postponed because of some virus pandemic, not sure if you’ve heard about it!?), and the slightly challenging job situation (and therefore lack of private health care cover), we are now back on track… sort of…!!!

I was given a date for the operation of Saturday 8th August, and told that the whole family would have to isolate for two weeks before hand, and possibly two weeks afterwards. So, Saturday 25th arrives (two weeks before), and isolation starts.
Monday arrives, and I decide that, as I haven’t heard from the hospital or the consultant, I should give them a call, just to make sure everything is A-OK. It wasn’t… in their words… “my form disappeared down a hole”… the operation is no longer on the 8th… my heart sank… it is now on Thursday 13th August… phew, only 5 days delay… I was very worried that they were going to say September or later even.
Sarah and the girls aren’t that happy being in isolation (especially having the false start to the period!). I’m trying to stay positive… after all, it’s my knee that is going to get done!, but it’s hard, everything is on hold, job searching, pond and building jobs I’ve quoted for and arranged… I’ve just got an en suite bathroom to fit, which should be keeping me busy, but it’s difficult to remain focused, plus it’s frustrating because I can’t just nip out to Wickes…

Thankfully we have some wonderful friends who are rallying around, so thank you to The Curd’s for dog walking; Ali C for hot-tub loan and drug and pee deliveries; Nicola for ice lollies; The Woodhead’s for custard; Sue & Ray and Mandy & Gary for vegetables various; Sid for fruit and Wickes special orders (and lots of laughs); and Sara for compost and supplies from the supermarket. You’re all stars! Thank you!
